The Handbag Evolution

Gigantic bags that carry everything have had their moment in the sun but we are loving the new trend of small, neat bags that carry only what you need. Simplifying our lives and forcing us to be more organised, they hold a few essential things like your purse, phone, keys and lipstick. What is even more exciting about them is their versatility. Because the leather strap is adjustable and removable they can transform from a cross-body sling bag into a shoulder bag, a clutch bag and a moon bag. Four handbags in one! To those kooky tourists who continued wearing moon bags after the eighties, RESPECT! You must have known something we didn't :)

Many people love a big carry-all bag because it never has to be re-packed. If you have small children the benefits of being able to throw everything into your carry-all speak for themselves. Everything including the kitchen sink can fit but you are sure to accidentally grab hold of a squashed banana when you are digging for you phone!

With the new more compact bags it is rather empowering that you don't have space for anyone else's stuff... Husband must look after his own sunglasses and kids must tie their sweaters around their waist. This bag feels like freedom!
